User Reviews

Users find the Flow device innovative and generally accurate for monitoring air quality, but the Android app suffers from frequent bugs, poor GPS and Bluetooth reliability, limited historical data access, and lack of advanced data visualization features. While some appreciate exporting data for external analysis, many criticize the app for its instability and usability issues, highlighting the need for significant improvements to match the device's potential.
Pros
  • The device itself is innovative and useful for monitoring air quality, showing expected pollutant changes in real environments.
  • The app provides basic historical data and visualization through graphs and maps, with some users appreciating the spots and GPS tracking features.
  • Exporting data allows users to perform their own analysis outside the app.
  • The app works well enough for current day data and syncing once initial setup and battery optimization are correctly configured.
Cons
  • The app is buggy, prone to crashes, and often fails to load or update data properly.
  • GPS and Bluetooth connectivity are unreliable, with difficulties in tracking movement and syncing data consistently.
  • Historical data visualization is limited; users find it hard to access and review past data comprehensively within the app.
  • The app lacks advanced data display options, like detailed pollutant charts, adjustable time scales, and better map views of routes.
  • Battery life and app notifications are problematic; the device requires frequent charging, and the app's constant syncing notification is considered intrusive.
Recent reviews
This app is no longer maintained, with the last update in October 2023. It just crashes on newer versions of Android. This app was always very simple and often buggy. The company never invested enough into this app to make the product great, for whatever reason. Shame.

The app needs a lot of work. The device itself is excellent but the app lets it down. Here's why: 1. Buggy and currently GPS not working. 2. Inability to usefully see historical data. Perhaps a personal map with history. Data presented in a richer way such as charts of exposure. It's clear the company is using the data much more usefully than I am able. 3. Doesn't always stay connected to Bluetooth.
