Features & Capabilities

Use PS Remote Play to stream and control your PS5™ or PS4™ from your Android device. View your console screen, use the on-screen controller or pair supported controllers — DUALSHOCK®4, DualSense™, DualSense Edge™ (on Android 12+/14+ as specified), and Backbone One — join voice chats, and enter text with your mobile keyboard for a full remote gaming experience.

PS Remote Play requires Android 10 or later, a PS5/PS4 with the latest system software, a PlayStation Network account, and a fast, stable internet connection. The app lists verified devices (including Pixel 7–9 series) and warns about higher mobile data usage, possible input lag on some devices, and occasional game compatibility issues. See the PlayStation mobile app EULA for full terms.

User Reviews

Users report PS Remote Play on Android often works only on local networks. The most recurring problems are connection failures and timeouts, login/pairing issues, and frequent crashes or load errors. Performance can be laggy with low FPS, and recent updates seem to introduce regressions. A few reviews mention it still functions and remote play is possible in favorable conditions, and some users can use it across phones and tablets. Overall, reliability is inconsistent across devices and networks.

Pros

Remote play is supported and can work well under favorable conditions.
Can connect on a local network/Wi-Fi to set up the session.
Works on multiple devices (phones and tablets).
Overall usable when it connects.

Cons

Frequent connection failures or inability to connect remotely (errors like 'Something went wrong' and timeouts).
App crashes, white screen, or closes unexpectedly, often on launch.
Sign-in and pairing problems persist (login prompts, passkey stuck).
Performance issues and lag/low FPS, especially after updates.
Update/regression problems with the app breaking or worsening connectivity.
