BotanAI: Plant ID & Care

BotanAI is a plant identification and care app for houseplant owners and gardeners. It identifies plants from photos, tracks watering schedules, and adjusts care recommendations based on local weather.

Plant Identification
- Identifies plants from your photos using on-device computer vision
- Falls back to Plant.id and Pl@ntNet cloud services for difficult identifications
- Returns scientific names, common names, and plant family classification
- Provides confidence scores for each prediction
- Identification works without an internet connection when the on-device model recognizes the plant

Plant Health Diagnosis
- Helps spot common plant problems including yellowing leaves, brown spots, wilting, and pest damage
- Suggests possible causes such as overwatering, nutrient deficiencies, fungal infection, or low humidity
- Provides treatment recommendations for each issue
- Includes a chat interface for plant care questions

Garden Tracker
- Save your plants to a personal garden with photos and nicknames
- Track watering schedules personalized by species, pot size, and location
- Receive notifications when a plant is due for water
- One-tap mark-as-watered action to log care
- View care history and watering streaks

Weather-Aware Care
- Adjusts watering recommendations based on local temperature and humidity

Per-Plant Voice (Beta)
- Each plant gets an assigned name and personality
- Watering reminders and care messages written in the plant's voice
- Six personality archetypes: Dramatic, Stoic, Cheerful, Shy, Sassy, Scholarly
- Disable in Settings if you prefer standard notifications

Privacy
- Identification tries your device first; photos go to cloud services (Pl@ntNet, Plant.id) only when needed for a more accurate result
- No account or sign-in is required to use the app
- Community and per-plant voice features can be turned off in Settings
- Delete all your data anytime by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling

Plant Database
The app recognizes common houseplants including Monstera, Pothos, Snake Plant, Fiddle Leaf Fig, Peace Lily, Spider Plant, Philodendron, Calathea, and many succulents and herbs. The cloud identification service extends coverage to a much larger species database for outdoor and rare plants.
