MatchMinutes makes mid-game substitutions simple. Instead of scribbling on a clipboard or tracking minutes in your head, you tap a player to bring them on, the app handles the timer, and every player gets the field time they deserve. The app is simple to use but powerful and flexible.

Designed for sunlight-readable, single-thumb operation on a busy sideline. This is a hobby app built by another soccer parent for fun and it is not designed to be monetized or to steal your data - everything stays on your phone.

Built for the way youth coaches actually work

Squad once, reuse every match. Add your players and their preferred positions in the Squad tab and the app remembers them across the season.
Formations from 5v5 to 9+1. Pick your team size and whether you play with a dedicated keeper.

Game-day availability. Mark players as Starting, Bench, Arriving Late, or Out before kick-off — late arrivals show as "Arriving" on the bench until you tap "Here!" when they show up.
First-class half-time and full-time flow. Kick off → first half → half time → second half → end match. Match summary saved to history with every player's minutes.

Live match controls designed for the sideline
Live pitch view. Players sit in their formation rows (Attacker / Midfielder / Defender / Goalie). Each bubble shows the player's name and current time on field, updated every second.
Quick substitutions. Tap a player on the pitch → the bench slides up → tap the player coming on → confirm. Their time is tracked from the moment they come on.

Bench at a glance. Each bench card shows the player's preferred position, total time on the field, and a "Low Minutes" flag if they're below the squad average.
Next-off suggestion. The on-pitch player with the most field time is highlighted as a fair next-to-come-off so minutes stay even.
Goalkeeper rules built in. The keeper is locked behind a half-time substitution gate (or an explicit injury swap), preserving the way youth football is actually played.
On-pitch position swap. Tap two outfielders on the pitch to swap their positions without burning a substitution.
Match Adjustments. A small overflow lets you field (or remove) an extra on-pitch player to cover league-specific rules like the U9 4-goal-deficit allowance.

Score, history, and minutes
Big-touch scoreboard with simple +/- for home and away.
Match history with the result, formation, opponent, and a sorted list of every player's minutes.
Time-on-pitch fairness signals so you can spot a player who's been left on the bench too long.
Validation that has your back
Won't let you start a match with two goalkeepers on the field, or with your designated keeper stranded on the bench.
Confirms half-time, end-match, and player removal so accidental taps don't cost you.
Persists your roster, team name, and season defaults across launches.
Your data stays on your device
No accounts. No servers. No analytics. Squad, settings, and match history are stored only on your phone — they go nowhere unless you choose to share them.
