Plane Watch

Plane Watch is a small private timezone tool dressed up like an airport departure board. You set your TOWER city in Settings, then every contact you add becomes a flight strip: a bold 3-letter airport-style code, a city label, the current local time, and a country tag. The home screen reads like a real arrivals board. There is no FAB, no top-right pill, no inline empty card -- the primary action is a wide FILE NEW FLIGHT banner sitting directly under the header, persistent and impossible to miss.

THE TOWER WINDOW

Below the action banner there is a 24-hour strip showing the longest period when EVERYONE you track is inside their own working hours at once. The window is reported in your local clock as plain numbers like 09:00 - 14:00. The strip lights up the matching hours in mint green. A small amber outline marks the current hour. When no overlap exists with your current contacts, the strip tells you exactly that.

FLIGHT STRIP CARDS

Each contact is shown as a flight strip with:
- a bold 3-letter airport-style code derived from the city name, set on a runway-orange block
- the country tag below the code
- the city label, full name, in mono caps
- the contact name in sentence case
- their local time vs your local time, side by side
- a delta badge -- +8h, -5h, or SAME
- a 24-hour working window strip mapped to YOUR clock
- a small amber landing-light dot on the top-right for pinned strips

THE FILE-NEW-FLIGHT BANNER

The action lives in a wide orange banner sitting directly under the header. The banner shows a square plus block, the words FILE NEW FLIGHT in mono caps, a sub-line ("add a new contact and pick their city"), and a small ">>" arrow on the right. The banner is persistent on every state -- with contacts, without contacts, in any filter. The action is always one tap away and the slot for it is always the same.

THE TOWER TAB

The second bottom tab is a Tower view -- a clean list of every city you track, sorted by hour offset from your TOWER. Each row shows the city name (or your custom label), the IANA id, the day shift (same day / next day / prev day), all contact names in that city, the delta badge, and a big local time. There is a + ADD CITY pill in the top-right which opens the same searchable picker. Long-press a row to remove all contacts in that city.

THE EDITOR

Tap a flight strip and the editor opens. Name field, city picker (searchable list of 115+ IANA cities plus raw UTC offsets), free notes field. Save, archive, pin, or delete from a small row of actions at the top.

SETTINGS

Pick your TOWER city from the same searchable picker. Add a custom display label ("Office", "Berlin HQ", whatever). Toggle 24-hour vs 12-hour clock format. Tune the working window to any whole hour 0-23 using +/- steppers or by tapping and typing.

PRIVACY

Plane Watch keeps every contact on your device. No sign-in, no cloud sync, no analytics, no ad SDK. The contact store is encrypted at rest with a key that lives in the Android Keystore. No network permissions are requested. If you uninstall the app, the data goes with it.
