If you give it a snapshot of various activities like purchases, sells, dividends, capital gains etc in an EXCEL spread sheet, this application quickly translates this data into useful information displaying your Total Portfolio, Total Initial Investment, Total Cost (initial investment plus dividends reinvested) and Cash on hand. Further, Portfolio Tracker breaks down your portfolio into holdings whether it is Common Stock, Money Market Funds, Open End Funds (mutual funds), ETFs, and Annuities. For each holding, it presents the Market Value, Initial Investment, Total Cost and the number of shares held. If you want dig deeper, you click on the holding and the application shows all the purchases of that holding. What does this all mean? At any time you want to sell a holding, you download Portfolio-Expanded Detail spreadsheet from the Wells Fargo Advisors on to your Android phone or tablet, launch Portfolio Tracker application, navigate to the location of the spreadsheet on your smart phone or Tablet and then click the process button. Voila, the data in the spread sheet is transformed into useful information and you can make a well-informed decision whether to sell the holding.
To download the Portfolio-Expanded Detail Excel from Wells Fargo Advisors, do this
- Login into Wells Fargo Advisors.
- Choose an account you manage.
- Select Portfolio tab.
- From the menu, choose Account Download.
- Select Excel in the page displayed. Make sure the account is clearly displayed in Account(s) drop down box.
- Choose Portfolio-Expanded Detail from Download Type drop down box.
- Click Download.
