User reviews
Users appreciate CCleaner for its ease of use, longstanding reputation, and effective phone cleaning capabilities. However, many are frustrated by the app’s heavy reliance on paid subscriptions or ads to access core features, poor customer support, and issues with subscriptions and billing. Ads intended to unlock cleaning functions often malfunction or do not work as intended, and users report the app requesting excessive permissions and causing problems with other apps. Overall, while the app has good cleaning potential, its monetization approach and support shortcomings significantly reduce user satisfaction.
Pros
- Longstanding reputation from the PC version with many years of user trust.
- Easy to use with an intuitive interface suitable for beginners.
- Effectively frees up storage space and helps improve phone performance.
- Small app footprint that doesn’t heavily impact device resources.
Cons
- Major cleaning features, including cache cleaning, are locked behind a paid subscription or ads, making the free version practically unusable.
- Watching ads to unlock cleaning functions is frustrating, often non-functional, or leads to unclear or deceptive user experiences.
- Unresponsive or ineffective customer support when users report billing or app issues.
- Subscription management is problematic, including unexpected charges and requiring separate subscriptions for different platforms.
- The app frequently requires extensive permissions and can cause malfunctions or interference with other apps.

Used this product on my pc for years with no problems. Seems to be good on Android phones. I always use the free version and liked the option to use premium by watching an ad. However they should review the ads because they try to trick you into installing w.e ad you get. Its a full screen video that you watch until the end BEFORE you can close it. At the end of the video the x appears in the top right corner. watch the bottom bar for video progress.

Have to pay money to actually use it. Also identical UI and functionality to avast's "cleaner" even with verbatim language Reaponse to dev: you lock the main advertised cleaning option behind a paywall. That's not a "suggestion" that's dishonest. The free version clears nothing. Just be upfront with it instead of trying to trick people. I used to use CCleaner on my PC but it's great to know you're just another money-grubbing mobile developer now.
