Cardnook Android

Cardnook

Barcode wallet for loyalty cards. The right card at the right store.

Features & Capabilities

Cardnook is a loyalty-card wallet that puts all your store cards on your
phone — and respects your privacy while it's there.

Scan a card once, then show its barcode to the cashier in full-screen.
No more rummaging through plastic.

WHAT MAKES CARDNOOK DIFFERENT

• Local-first. Your card data lives on your device. Backup is optional
and stays inside your account — we don't sell your data, and the only
third-party touch on opt-in cloud backup is Supabase, our data
processor (server-side storage), under EU GDPR rules.

• Offline-first. The app reads and writes only on your phone — the
network is never on the hot path. Show a barcode at the till even with
no signal.

• Brand logos when you want them. Tap "Fetch logos" and Cardnook looks
up brand favicons for recognised store names — common retailers are
matched in seconds. The lookup is always user-initiated; never
background, never automatic.

• Around here. Optional location-based suggestions: turn it on and Cardnook
learns where you use each card, then offers the right one when you
return. Locations stay on your device — they're never sent to the cloud.

CORE FEATURES

• Fast scanner — supports EAN-13, UPC-A, Code 128, Code 39, QR codes,
PDF417, Aztec, Data Matrix and more.
• Bright, full-screen barcode display with auto-brightness and screen
wake-lock so the cashier can scan it cleanly.
• Pinch to zoom on the barcode if a reader needs more or less detail.
• Search and sort your wallet by recency, name, or most-used.
• Customisable per-card colour and store-detected name.
• Soft delete with undo — accidental swipes don't lose a card.
• Up to 64 cards per wallet (more than anyone needs in practice).

CLOUD BACKUP — OPTIONAL, PRIVATE

If you turn on cloud backup, your cards are mirrored to a private encrypted
backend so they survive a reinstall or a new phone. Account linking with
Google, Apple, or an email address lets you restore on another device.

What is backed up: only the card information you entered.
What is NEVER backed up: locations, camera images, anything else.

CARDNOOK NEVER

• Sells your data — for any purpose, to anyone.
• Asks for permissions it doesn't need.
• Records anything from your camera. The scanner reads barcodes in-place
and the frames are discarded immediately.
