Island Skies is a fast-paced, top-down arcade game in which players pilot a plane and fly as far as possible over the vast sea. In Island Skies, controls are achieved by simply swiping left and right, and while you hold your finger on the screen, the plane automatically fires.

As you fly in Island Skies, enemy planes appear. Colliding with an enemy costs you one life, so it's important to constantly maneuver and maintain focus. Players start with three lives, but Island Skies offers the chance to extend their flight—an extra life is added every two minutes if they survive.

The gameplay speed in Island Skies gradually increases, making each leg of the journey more challenging than the last. The seascape constantly changes in the background, and the plane occasionally flies over islands, creating a sense of continuous travel.

Island Skies encourages players to beat their own records: their best score and current distance are always displayed on the screen. When all lives are lost, the flight ends, and the player returns to the main menu to challenge themselves again in Island Skies and try to fly even further.
