MHVRA Survey

Disasters have become very common phenomenon in Pakistan. Province Punjab is being hit by floods or any other disaster almost every year e.g. riverain floods, flash floods, hill torrents, urban flooding, desert locust, COVID, Smog etc. Provincial Government is responsible for the safety and security of the residents of the vulnerable areas of the province. Provincial Disaster Management Authority PDMA is mandated to protect lives and livelihood of the vulnerable people of the province. PDMA has designed and developed an android App to conduct a survey of vulnerable areas of the province along rivers. This survey tool will help collect geolocation of vulnerable people and contact details. These information are important to determine vulnerability index of an area. Whereas, contact details will be used to intimate / warn vulnerable people well in advance so they can make necessary arrangements for their safety or shift somewhere else if deemed necessary, before the onset of any disaster, as per the directions of local administration. Moreover, in order to compensate for the losses to property, PDMA will need visual evidence of property, and for this purpose, App will provide option to take photograph of property too.
