User Reviews

SSH Button is appreciated for its simplicity, ease of use, and reliable SSH command execution with useful widget support. However, users commonly report difficulties with SSH key authentication and file selection, insufficient documentation, storage permission issues on newer Android versions, and desire for advanced UI features such as button categorization and status feedback. Despite these drawbacks, it remains a valuable tool for remote device control and server management.
Pros
  • Simple and straightforward UI, making it easy to use.
  • Effectively performs SSH commands remotely as intended.
  • Widget support enhances convenience.
  • Lightweight and functional for remote server management.
  • Reliable for common tasks like router management and server control.
Cons
  • Lack of clear documentation or instructional information presents a learning barrier.
  • Issues with selecting and authenticating SSH private keys, with some users experiencing failures.
  • Storage permission problems, especially on newer Android versions like Android 14.
  • No support for button categorization, making widget management difficult when many buttons exist.
  • Absence of advanced features like SSH logs, button reordering by drag-and-drop (though workaround exists), or status feedback from commands.

Love the idea of this app, but couldn't make it so anything. It was seeking some permission and I didn't seem to have any way to grant it. It also lacks any instructional information to help someone get started.

Unfortunately it looks like SSH authentication doesn't work. Even renaming the private key to .jpg as indicated on the other website, the app just says it's an invalid key.
