Package Weight Estimator

Package Weight Estimator is a travel packing tool that helps you track the weight of items going into a suitcase or carry-on bag before you get to the airport scale.

Each packed item is logged with a name, a category, a unit weight, and a quantity. Categories include Clothing, Shoes & Footwear, Electronics & Tech, Toiletries & Grooming, Docs & Valuables, Gear & Accessories, Food & Drinks, and Miscellaneous, each with a default weight for quick entry. For clothing, shoes, and gear, an optional Small / Medium / Large / X-Large size can fill in a typical weight automatically, using a built-in catalog of common travel items such as t-shirts, jackets, sneakers, and laptops.

Weights can be entered and displayed in kilograms, pounds, ounces, or grams, with automatic conversion between units.

A baggage profile sets the weight limit a list is measured against. Package Weight Estimator ships with reference profiles — US domestic carry-on, international carry-on, strict budget-airline carry-on, standard checked baggage, and heavy or first-class checked baggage — each showing typical dimensions alongside its limit. Custom profiles with their own name and limit can also be created.

As items are added, a dial-style gauge shows total packed weight against the selected limit, and the list can be filtered by category. Items can be edited or deleted, and recent changes reversed with undo and redo, up to twenty steps back.

A built-in analytics view breaks packed weight down by category, shows what share of the total each category makes up, and lists the three heaviest items currently packed.

A list in progress can be saved as a named session for a trip and reloaded later, with several sessions kept side by side. The current list can also be exported as a shareable text summary, grouped by category, for reference.

All data — packed items, baggage profiles, and saved sessions — is stored locally on the device by Package Weight Estimator.
