The app keeps everything offline on your device, so your growing collection is always private and instantly available. From the Lanterns screen, you see your full string with a handy search field and category filter to find any lantern quickly. At the top, three wooden tally tags show your total saved words, the number added this week, and how many you recalled today. A strip of your three most recently added lanterns sits just beneath the counters, giving you a warm, immediate view of your latest captures. Tap any lantern to open its detail view, where you can edit the translation, change the category, update your memory hint, or delete the entry. Hanging a new word is effortless—switch to the Hang Word tab, fill in the source phrase, translation, and optional category and note, then save to see your lantern appear on the string. Each lantern gets a subtle tint from its category: jade for nouns, amber for verbs, rose for phrases, and slate for notes, so you recognize word types at a glance. When you're ready to review, the Recall tab shows one lantern at a time with the translation hidden. Tap the lantern to reveal the meaning, then mark it as Got It or choose Again so the app can gently guide your practice. The Settings screen gives you a clean summary of your local data: total lanterns stored, the time of your last recall session, and a button to clear all data with a confirmation step. Because all your words live only on your phone, there’s no account to create, no cloud sync to wait for, and nothing leaves your device.
