Keep Screen On

You are reading a recipe with wet hands. You are showing someone a photo. You are following a PDF manual while you assemble a shelf.
The screen goes dark right then — every time.
Android only lets you change the screen timeout for everything at once, and then you forget to change it back.

■ One tap on, one tap off

· Tap the Quick Settings tile or the home screen widget
· Tap it again and it stops right there
· Choose up to three of 3 · 5 · 10 · 30 · 60 minutes and "until I stop"

■ The status bar tells you how long

· The notification says how many minutes you picked
· The small icon changes too — 10 · 30 · ∞ — so you know without pulling the shade down
· Stopping is one tap on that notification

■ Or let a chosen app do it

· Pick an app and the screen stays on only while that app is in front
· Leave the app and the screen goes back to normal
· Browser, PDF, notes, gallery — anything you look at without touching

■ Your system setting is never changed

This app never writes to your screen timeout. Not once.
· Nothing is ever drawn on top of your apps

■ What costs money

· Quick Settings — pull down from the status bar — and the home widget are free, always
· Every timer — 3 to 60 minutes and until you stop — is free too
· Only automatic mode, on by itself while your chosen apps are open, is a one-time purchase. Not a subscription

■ What is not here

· No ads
· No account, no sign-in
· No subscription
· No server — the apps and times you chose stay on this phone

■ Worth knowing

· "Display over other apps" is required. That is how the screen is held on
· Automatic mode needs "Usage access". Turn it down and manual mode still works
· The notification permission exists so there is always a place to stop it
