Features & Capabilities

Velorki plans bike routes, builds loops and records your rides. It runs on OpenStreetMap data with bike-specific routing, and the whole app is open source.

PLANNING
• Tap waypoints on the map and get a route for the bike you are on: trekking, road, gravel or mountain bike.
• Alternatives for every route, an elevation profile, and a breakdown of the surfaces you will ride on.
• Loops: say how far you want to ride and, if you like, one place to pass, and Velorki proposes round trips that come back to where you started.
• Search for places, save routes to your library, and download map regions to use without a connection.

RECORDING
• Records with the screen off and keeps recording if the app is closed.
• Distance, time, speed and ascent while you ride, with auto-pause and a notification that shows the ride in progress.
• Follow a planned route, then review and edit the ride afterwards.

FILES
• Open GPX and FIT files from your files app, from mail, from a browser or through the share sheet.
• Export routes and rides as GPX or FIT and hand them to Komoot, Garmin Connect, Strava or anything else that reads those formats.

FREE, AND VELORKI PLUS
Everything that runs on the phone is free: planning, loops, recording, the library, offline map regions, and GPX and FIT import and export.

Velorki Plus is a subscription for the parts that need a server or an account with another service:
• Strava: upload a recorded ride, import your Strava routes.
• Ride with GPS: routes and trips, both directions.
• The assistant: describe the ride you want in a sentence and get a route.
• Share links for routes and rides.

PRIVACY
There is no account and no sign-up. Routes, rides and settings stay on your phone. Nothing goes to Strava or Ride with GPS until you connect the account and ask for it. The assistant asks for your consent before any text leaves the device, and the position it sends is rounded to about a kilometre.
