Ember: Talk It Out

Talk it out. Feel understood. Meet people who get you.

Ember is where you talk through what's on your mind, any hour, by text or out loud. It remembers what you said, and it knows how things went for real people who stood where you're standing. It won't tell you what to do. And once Ember knows you, it can introduce you to people you'd actually get along with.

WHAT PEOPLE BRING TO EMBER
A relationship that ended, or one you're no longer sure about. A marriage where you feel alone. Trust that broke and a story that doesn't add up. Someone you love and a line you need to hold. A choice where both options make sense. Or a late night when there's no one left to tell.

SAY IT YOUR WAY
• Type it, say it out loud, or call Ember.
• Send a screenshot or a photo when it helps show what happened.
• Start anywhere, in your own words. Your conversation with Ember carries on, so you never have to start over.
• Ember asks the question you might be skipping, and gives you room to answer it. No lecture, no verdict.

FEEL UNDERSTOOD
• Ember remembers what you've told it, so you don't have to explain it all again.
• It knows how it went for people who've been there: what they tried, and what happened after.
• Every situation people bring to Ember has a light on Ember's tree. Tap one to see what the people who stood there went through.
• Now and then, Ember may hand you one person's account in their own words, because they said yes to it being read.

YOUR EMBERS
What you tell comes back as one clear page in your own words: your Ember. Keep your Embers in your notebook, return to them when you need to, or delete them anytime. You can close your notebook with a password only you know.

MEET PEOPLE WHO GET YOU
• Once you've been talking with Ember for a couple of days, there's a Meet people sign on your home. Ask Ember to find you a new friend: one person to chat with at your own pace, with Ember there too. Friends only, never dating.
• Ember tells you why it thinks you two would get along. You both say yes before the chat opens.
• Or start a room about something you love, or ask to join one that's going: three to eight people and Ember, each with a room nickname. Drop in whenever.
• You decide what's on your card. Nothing from your chats with Ember is shared with the people you meet. Stop or leave anytime.

PRIVATE BY DEFAULT
Nothing you tell becomes a public post, and it is never open to search engines. No other user can read your Ember unless you separately say yes, and you can close it again anytime. Eligible deidentified information may inform Ember unless you turn that off. The small team at Oriscen that builds Ember can read conversations to keep Ember safe and to make it better.
