User Reviews

Users find OD Cam app useful for remote control of Ordro cameras once the Wi-Fi connection is properly established; however, many struggle with initial connection setup due to confusing Wi-Fi procedures. The app suffers from stability issues including crashes, connection drops, and video/audio sync problems. It lacks support for high-resolution video viewing within the app and is not fully compatible with recent Android versions. Despite flaws, the app functions well for basic remote control purposes, especially if users carefully follow the manual's instructions.
Pros
  • Allows connection and remote control of Ordro cameras via Wi-Fi.
  • Enables triggering video recording from the app.
  • Functions acceptably once the Wi-Fi connection to the camera is properly established.
  • No in-app ads, providing an uninterrupted user experience.
  • Basic functionality works well for those who follow setup instructions carefully.
Cons
  • Connection process and Wi-Fi setup can be confusing leading to frequent connection failures.
  • App is unstable with frequent crashes and loss of connection during use.
  • Video and audio synchronization issues when recording through the app over Wi-Fi.
  • Limited functionality such as inability to view recordings above Full HD 60fps directly in-app.
  • Lack of support for newer Android versions (e.g., Android 11) and poor app updates or maintenance.

I initially had the same connection problem described in some reviews, but once I understood why, it worked perfectly in seconds. So, if your app does not connect to your camera: 1. Make sure the wifi is enabled on your camera first 2. Go to your phone/tablet network settings and connect to the camera's wifi network. The name of the network and default password are in the manual (e.g., EP8_******). Once done, go back to the app and connect to the camera. It should all work fine from there.

I've got the Palmcorder & it's absolutely amazing. I've got video reviews of it on my YouTube channel. The MASSIVE downfall is these apps from overseas are all setup to connect through Wi-Fi instead of the faster & more secure Bluetooth. All companies have to do is switch from WI-FI connectivity to Bluetooth & the apps will work better opening things up to live streaming which is what 99.99% of people are looking for. It's pointless to transfer over Wi-Fi when Bluetooth is 20x faster..
