User reviews

Shatterbrain - Physics Puzzles is praised for its creative physics-based gameplay and challenging puzzles that encourage outside-the-box thinking. Users appreciate its similarity to popular games like Brain It On and find the puzzles satisfying. However, many reviews criticize the app for excessive and long unskippable ads, mandatory perfect scores to progress, and frequent technical issues such as crashes and progress losses. Additionally, some puzzles are considered overly difficult or luck-dependent, causing frustration and tedious repetition. Overall, while inventive and fun, the game's difficulty curve and monetization detract from the user experience.
Pros
  • Creative and solidly designed physics-based gameplay and puzzle mechanics.
  • Challenging puzzles that require creative problem solving and thinking outside the box.
  • Fair number of ads for hints and option for single purchase to remove ads appreciated by some users.
  • Fun and satisfying to solve puzzles, recommended for puzzle lovers.
  • Similar enjoyable experience to 'Brain It On' series, appreciated by fans of that game.
Cons
  • Excessive and lengthy unskippable ads frustrate users and consume data.
  • Requirement to achieve a perfect 3-star score on every level to progress is too demanding and restrictive.
  • Game instability issues including freezing, crashing, and progress resets after ads.
  • Certain levels are perceived as nearly impossible or require frustrating exactness and luck, leading to tedious repetition.
  • Game glitches cause ads to loop and prevent progression, making gameplay frustrating and unfair.

The gameplay itself is pretty solidly designed. Some of the mechanics for solving puzzles are really creative, but... It's pretty poorly executed. The levels get way too hard way too quickly, and many of them require really precise lines that are hard to replicate even from the hint. Plus, requiring 3 stars on every level to progress (or watch an ad) is frustrating. Final verdict: good concept, but infuriating in practice. Had to uninstall to keep from throwing my phone.

Fun game so far, but sucks that you have to get a perfect score on every level in order to continue. On one level, 36, the hint shows a solution that literally won't work; it shows that you're supposed to make a line under the red bar that doesn't move and catches another line, but it's not attached to anything and there's no floor to prop it up, making it impossible to execute. Had to find a different solution in order to get through. Otherwise it's a fun challenge, tho.
