PocketVoice Android

PocketVoice

Voice to text keyboard for any app Dictate with a floating bubble paste anywhere

Overview

Features & Capabilities

Pocket Voice turns your voice into text in any app on your phone. Tap the floating bubble, speak naturally, and your words are dropped straight into the text field you were typing in — whether that's a message, an email, a search box, a note, or a comment.

Stop thumb-typing long replies. Talk instead.

KEY FEATURES

Dictate into any app — messaging, email, browsers, notes, social, search bars, forms
Floating bubble that follows you across apps, so dictation is one tap away wherever you tap
Fast, accurate voice-to-text powered by modern speech recognition
Punctuation, capitalization, and formatting handled automatically
Works in landscape and portrait, over the on-screen keyboard or instead of it
Auto-hides inside banking and other sensitive apps for your privacy
Microphone is only active while you are actively dictating — never in the background
Optional cloud sync to keep your transcript history across devices when you sign in
WHO IT'S FOR

Pocket Voice is a productivity tool for anyone who would rather speak than type — people sending long messages on the go, writers capturing thoughts hands-free, multitaskers replying while cooking or driving (hands-free, please), and people who simply find dictation faster than tapping a small keyboard. It is also useful for people who find on-screen typing uncomfortable, including those with hand fatigue, RSI, or limited dexterity, but the app is built for general productivity, not as a medical or assistive device.

HOW POCKET VOICE USES THE ANDROID ACCESSIBILITY SERVICE

Pocket Voice registers a single Accessibility Service called "Pocket Voice Dictation" in your system Accessibility settings. Here is exactly what it does and does not do.

What the service does:

Detects which text field you currently have focused (so it knows where to put your words)
Detects when the on-screen keyboard opens, moves, or closes (so the floating bubble can reposition out of the way)
Inserts your dictated text into that focused text field after you finish speaking and confirm, using the standard Android accessibility text actions (ACTION_SET_TEXT, with a clipboard-paste fallback for apps that don't accept it)
Hides the bubble automatically inside banking and other sensitive apps
What the service does NOT do:

It does not read, log, or transmit any screen content from other apps
It does not record audio — your microphone is only used by the recorder when you tap to dictate, not by the accessibility service
It does not capture keystrokes, passwords, payment fields, banking fields, or PINs
It does not perform autonomous actions, click buttons on your behalf, send messages for you, or act as an agent
It does not change your device settings
It does not run when you are not dictating — it stays passive until you press the bubble
Data handling: text you dictate is sent to a speech recognition service over HTTPS to be converted into words, then inserted into the field you chose. The Accessibility Service itself does not store or transmit the contents of any text field — it only reads the current text of the field you are dictating into so it can splice your new words in at the cursor, and writes the result back.

You explicitly grant the Accessibility permission yourself in Android Settings the first time you set up Pocket Voice, and you can disable or revoke it at any time from Settings > Accessibility > Pocket Voice Dictation. The app will stop inserting text the moment you do.
