Pickup Buddy

Pickup Buddy is a mobile app designed to assist with student release at the end of the school day, focusing specifically on early childhood education and elementary school. The main objective is to address issues of lack of synchronization and ineffective communication between parents/guardians and school personnel, which result in delays, long lines, and stress during the pickup process.

Features and Benefits:

The system operates as an efficient means of communication to promote synchronization between parties.

For Parents and Guardians (Authorized Users):

Arrival Notification: They can signal that they are on their way to school to pick up their student(s), initiating the pickup process and joining the virtual queue.

Pickup Cancellation: They can leave the pickup queue if necessary.

Departure Confirmation: They can record the student's departure in the app, concluding the process.

Pickup History: Allows you to check the history to verify who picked up the student, who released them, and the date/time of pickup, which contributes to safety.

For Schools:

Optimized Queue View: Students receive a notification when a parent/guardian begins their route and can view a list of students waiting for pickup.

Proximity Sorting: The student list is sorted by the average distance from the parent/guardian to the school (using geolocation services), allowing staff to prepare students in advance.

Drop-Off Management: Students can easily manage and record their drop-off.

Safety: Centralized communication and a record of who dropped off/picked up students ensure greater safety when dropping off students, avoiding miscommunication with microphones or relying on staff memory.
