SkyGrip: Swing Descent

SkyGrip is a one tap swing game about falling well.

You drop into a gorge. Pegs pass on both walls. Hold anywhere on the screen and your gem throws a tether at the nearest peg, then gravity does the rest. You swing. You let go at the bottom of the arc and fly. You find the next peg before the fall runs out from under you. Hold to grip, release to launch, and that is the whole control scheme.

Learning it takes about ten seconds. Getting good at it takes a lot longer. Let go too early and you stall. Let go at the bottom of the swing and you get a perfect launch, a longer arc, and a chain that keeps climbing for as long as you keep catching pegs. One swing is one point, so the leaderboard is honest. Nobody has a multiplier you do not have.

A gorge that is actually alive

Every run drops you into one of eight worlds: Sunlit Forest, Open Sky, Red Canyon, Coral Reef, Frozen Ravine, Blossom Vale, Ember Rift, Luminous Grotto. The sky runs on your phone's clock, and on your local weather when the game can reach it, so an early run is a sunrise and a rainy day is a rainy gorge. Birds cross the canyon. Deer watch from the lip. Snow settles on the ledges, fireflies come out at night, and now and then something rare passes through.

Not every peg is a friend

Gold pegs pay gems the moment you grab them. Spring pegs kick you harder than you expect. Decaying pegs throw you off about a second after you latch, so plan the next grab before you land this one. Thornvines, pulsing gates and sliding bars are all trying to end the run. After a fall you can carry on: once per run with an optional video, or any time with gems from your wallet, at a rising price.

Built for a spare minute

The game plays offline. It is portrait, one hand, one thumb. A run is over in a minute or two, so it fits a bus stop, a queue, a lift, or a lunch break, and it picks up again exactly where your attention left off.

Made with care

There are no in-app purchases of any kind. The only ads are optional videos you choose to watch: one to carry on after a fall, one to top up your gems.
Reduce motion and screen flash settings are there for anyone who needs them, and every screen is checked for contrast.
Progress syncs through Play Games, so a new phone starts where the old one stopped.
Ten languages, and you can change the game's language inside the game.
