User Reviews

The Sequence [2] is a visually appealing and challenging puzzle game with well-designed levels and a smooth learning curve. Players appreciate its logical depth and satisfying gameplay, especially fans of puzzle genres similar to Zachtronics games. However, complaints focus on the lack of a hint system, making some puzzles frustratingly difficult, and some UI/feature shortcomings like missing leaderboards or save options. The game also reportedly consumes a notable amount of battery during play. Overall, it's well-liked by puzzle enthusiasts but less accessible for casual or less logical players.
Pros
  • The game offers challenging and well-designed puzzles that provide a good brain workout.
  • It has visually appealing and clean graphics with a retro style and good music.
  • The tutorial and learning curve are well-paced, suitable for beginners and experienced players alike.
  • The game is similar to renowned puzzle games like Zachtronics titles, which is appreciated by fans of the genre.
  • Many players find the game enjoyable, rewarding, and satisfying to play.
Cons
  • The absence of a hint system or any skip functionality makes it frustrating for players stuck on difficult puzzles.
  • Changing the order of sequences can be cumbersome and affects other parts of the puzzle, making it feel frustrating compared to the original game.
  • Lack of features such as per-level leaderboards, level numbers, save slots, or the ability to revisit levels after completion.
  • The game does not offer replayability beyond completing levels, such as a level editor or user-created challenges.
  • High battery consumption noted by some users, which is surprising given the 2D nature of the game.

I love, love, love the first version of this game and was thrilled to see there's a sequel. So far it's a little bit too handholding and then just copy paste levels for my taste, but I've just gotten to the new mechanics so there's some positive improvements, too. Definitely get this if you liked the first version!

The puzzles are a bit too challenging for me. Of the ones I was able to finish, they fried my brain. A hint button would be nice for those like me whom aren't exactly logically inclined.
