Kotomi

Kotomi is a place to build your own Japanese dictionary from the words you actually read.

Instead of grinding through someone else's word list, you collect your own. Come across a new word? Add it, and Kotomi finds the reading (with romaji), the meaning, and a simple breakdown of each kanji from a dictionary built into the app. Then it helps you remember it with spaced-repetition quizzes.

Kotomi is an early, independent project from a hobby developer who is also learning Japanese. The built-in dictionary uses data from the open JMdict and KANJIDIC2 projects (under CC BY-SA 4.0); attribution is shown in the app under "Data sources & licenses".
