SemioNutri

SemioNutri is an application suitable for health professionals qualified to carry out the nutritional assessment of hospitalized patients, in home care, outpatient clinics or offices.

The application proposes to help professionals in the evaluation of patients diagnosed with chronic diseases in a practical way, using systematized nutritional semiology (SNS) to identify the presence of malnutrition.

SemioNutri allows the health professional to evaluate the following anatomical regions in a systematic way: face, front and back of the trunk, upper and lower limbs. Therefore, it is organized into sections that represent the five anatomical regions assessed by the SNS instrument. By clicking on each region, the professional will be able to access the respective body segments that make up the methodology and evaluate each one of them independently.
For each segment, the options corresponding to the levels of tissue depletion are presented, allowing the professional to choose the one that best represents the patient's condition.

The examiner inspects and palpates the body segments in order to identify and score possible tissue depletions that are identified and select only one of the available options to evaluate each segment.

At any time, if there are doubts about what should be considered to perform the evaluation of the segments, the professional can review the description of each score. Just click on the more information icon available in the upper right corner of the segment evaluation screens.

When the evaluation of the regions is finished, the user will be able to check the partial score corresponding to each region and view the Body Depletion Index (BDI), which corresponds to the final score and allows obtaining the nutritional diagnosis.
