Review summary

Reviewers often find Cardzilla simple, useful, and effective for communicating with Deaf or hard-of-hearing people, particularly because its text is easy to show and clear. Repeated criticisms focus on Android having fewer features than iOS, limited display and orientation options, and occasional problems with app functions. Several reviewers request closer feature parity and more customization.

Pros

Helps users communicate with Deaf and hard-of-hearing people when sign language isn’t an option; reviewers also mention using it with people who have speech difficulties.
Simple and handy, with large text that makes messages easy to show to someone else.
Reviewers appreciate the quick way to clear all text, such as the delete button or swipe gesture.

Cons

Several reviewers say the Android app lacks features available on iOS, especially shake-to-clear or swipe-to-clear gestures.
Multiple reviewers want more display options, including text and background customization and better screen rotation or text flipping.
Some reviewers report missing or malfunctioning features, including copy-paste or the delete-all button.

it seems like it works when it wants to or stops it wants to. it'll work for 3 seconds 5 seconds and then stop like it's doing right now even in the middle of a word when it's working it's all right but when it's not it sucks

I truly appreciate this application as it facilitates communication with individuals who do not use ASL. However, I have noticed that the copy-paste function within the app is currently not operational. I would be grateful if this feature could be enabled. Update August 14, 2026. To the app developers, thank you so much for adding copy/paste functionality!

new update did away with any method to close the app (android)within the app. the back arrow doesnt even close it now......it only pulls out the settings menu. the only way now is to use the close all menu, which means you have to go to the apps page again to access and wait for it to reload.

Started using this since Deaf Note disappeared. Great functionality, though I'd like the rotation to match my phone's auto rotate settings (or at least the option for it). Also the ability to flip the text upside down with a single button press would be nice.

Works great for communicating with my deaf friend, I used to use Samsung notes but I like that the text on this is bigger and it's nice to be able to delete all the text at once by just swiping left on the screen (or hitting the trash can).

I wanna give you 5 stars, but I'm unable to rotate the app screen!! Awesome app tho, fix the Auto Rotate I'll bump it to 5 star. i use it to share my phone screen to my TV to communicate with my grandpa who can't hear well.

This is a great appfir kids with speech issues. I'm sad it hasn't been updated to run on the latest Android versions.

Great to use with my friend who is HoH - a cool option is to be able to flip the screen with a button. So the other person can see you typing in real time and it would be right side up for them.

Extremely handy make-text-big app that works seamlessly with speech-to-text from Google keyboard or Android. My deaf family uses this with anyone who doesn't know sign language, and I've been using this a lot with a nearly-deaf family member who doesn't know sign language. Thank you for this simple-yet-powerful app.

Nice in concept, but lacking compared to the iOS version (no shake to clear, no custom colours). I wish it had better feature parity, I'm shocked it doesn't honestly given how simple these things would be to implement! Probably won't use as it is now, but I'll keep an eye out for updates.
