NotiLog: Notification Log

Swiped away? Unsent? Keep a record with NotiLog.

Overview

Features & Capabilities

Swiped a notification away before you could read it? Received a message notification that was later deleted or unsent? NotiLog saves the notification content your phone receives, so you can revisit it after the notification disappears.

NotiLog can only save content delivered in a notification. It cannot recover messages that never appeared in a notification or content hidden by the sending app.

Read saved notification previews in NotiLog without opening the original chat, which ordinarily avoids sending a read receipt.

What You Can Do
- Read dismissed notifications and previously captured message previews, even after the sender unsends a message
- Search your notification history with full-text search and filter by app or date
- Favorite or pin the apps and conversations you check most
- Open an entry to review its available content and details
- Back up and restore your history using an encrypted backup protected by a passphrase only you know
- Improve background capture reliability with the appropriate device settings

Privacy by Design
- No account, no login, no analytics
- Your local notification history is encrypted on your device using SQLCipher and the Android Keystore
- Banking, 2FA, password manager, and OTP notifications are excluded by default
- Add your own app and keyword exclusions
- Use an optional PIN to help prevent accidental deletion
- Delete your local history anytime. Uninstalling removes local app data, but encrypted backup files saved elsewhere remain until you delete them

Share with Someone You Trust (Optional)
Pair two phones in person by scanning a QR code to share notifications with someone you trust. Sharing is off by default and requires both people to agree.

Shared notification content is end-to-end encrypted for the paired device. You can unpair anytime, and optional sharing requires a network connection.

Local notification logging, search, and filtering work offline.

How to Start
1. Open NotiLog and grant Notification Access when prompted. You can revoke access at any time.
2. Set NotiLog's battery usage to "Unrestricted" or the equivalent setting on your phone. Look under Settings > Apps > NotiLog > Battery.
3. Allow background activity. If your phone has an Autostart setting, enable it for NotiLog.

Why this matters: Android and manufacturer-specific battery restrictions can interrupt background activity. These settings may improve capture reliability, but they cannot guarantee that every notification will be recorded. Menu names vary by phone.
