NoPhoneZone allows event organizers and venue managers to define and enforce common rules for smartphone users.

Schools, concerts, museums, restaurants, board meetings, or vacations with friends—there are countless places and times where we would benefit from being more present and less attached to this device that has become... ubiquitous.

When you enter a No Phone Zone, your phone adapts to the rules established by those hosting you. They can choose to restrict access to social media, the camera, and addictive apps, but leave phone calls, text messages, and health apps active. Each venue, each event, will thus offer a disconnected experience tailored to its unique character, and thanks to its collective nature, the digital detox will be easier for everyone to adopt and enjoy.

The app is activated upon entering the venue by scanning a QR code or by searching the list of existing NoPhoneZone locations. A timer on the screen indicates the scheduled disconnection time, corresponding to the event's duration, while allowing access to authorized features.
The smartphone regains all its functionality after the agreed-upon time (at the end of the concert, the school day, or the meeting, for example). It is possible to leave the NoPhoneZone at any time by scanning a QR code located at the venue's exit or by using a PIN.

Why does NoPhoneZone use the Accessibility API?

NoPhoneZone uses the Android Accessibility API only to detect the opening of selected distracting applications and to temporarily block or redirect them. This permission is necessary for the application to function correctly; without it, our app cannot recognize or control access to these applications.
No personal data, keystrokes, or sensitive information is collected, stored, or shared. The accessibility service is used exclusively to help users adopt healthier digital habits and effectively reduce their phone screen time.
