In 2018, the NGA Board of Directors made a commitment to embedding API RP 1173 Pipeline Safety Management Systems principles into daily natural gas utility operations.

NGA created this application to facilitate collaboration among our members, anytime and anywhere, by inputting and sharing lessons learned, trending safety performance, providing metrics showing improvements in PSMS implementation and learning about safety management systems from other industries.The approach is based on operationalizing a safety management system strategy by adopting a Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) framework into daily engineering, construction, operations, and maintenance work.
