Smart KDS

Smart KDS is the kitchen display system for restaurants running on the NextGen Kitchens platform. Mount a tablet in the kitchen and your team works the whole service from one board: orders arrive on their own, each station sees its own work, and tickets print at the pass.

This app is for existing NextGen Kitchens customers. You sign in with your NextGen dashboard account, so there is no separate kitchen login to manage.

BUILT FOR THE LINE
• One card per order, side by side, so the whole queue is visible at a glance.
• A landscape board that keeps the screen awake right through service.
• A chime when a new order lands, with an adjustable number of rings.
• Adjustable text size, so the board stays readable from wherever the cook stands.

EVERY STATION SEES ITS OWN WORK
• Point a tablet at a named station (Grill, Fryer, Bar) and its board narrows to that station's items only.
• Or choose All stations (Expo) for the pass: whole orders, every line item, nothing filtered out.
• Items that are not routed anywhere collect under Unassigned instead of quietly disappearing.
• Run as many screens as you need. Station, printer, sound and text size all belong to that tablet, so two screens in the same kitchen can be set up completely differently.

FOUR VIEWS, ONE APP
• Kitchen Staff: work the queue, start and finish individual items, move orders through to ready.
• Runner: see what is ready and what is already on its way to the counter.
• Manager: prioritise an order, hold and resume it, or recall one that went out too early.
• Owner: a live read on how service is going, including on-time rates and where orders are getting stuck.

PRINT THE TICKET
• Bluetooth receipt printing to Star and Epson printers.
• Print automatically when an order becomes this station's to cook, or reprint any order on demand.
• Every ticket carries the station, the customer, the items, their modifiers and any notes.

CHANGE THE MENU WITHOUT LEAVING THE KITCHEN
• Channels: pause a delivery platform when the kitchen gets slammed, and switch it back on when you are ready.
• Menu Items and Modifiers: mark a dish or an option sold out from the same screen you are cooking on.

BUILT FOR MULTI RESTAURANT KITCHENS
• Several brands sharing one kitchen appear on the same board, with every item labelled by restaurant.
• Staff see and act on only the restaurants they are assigned to. Administrators see them all.

WHAT YOU NEED
An active NextGen Kitchens account. A Bluetooth receipt printer is optional, and only needed if you want to print tickets.
