Fridge Expiry Tracker

Fridge Expiry Tracker is a small kitchen companion that answers one question fast: what should we eat before it goes bad?

Add an item in seconds with its name, category (produce, dairy, meat, leftovers, drinks, or other), expiry date, quantity in portions, and storage zone (fridge, freezer, or pantry). The board then sorts everything by urgency, so whatever is closest to its date sits at the top of the list, and a running "units at risk" total shows how much food needs attention right now.

HOW PEOPLE USE IT
- After grocery shopping: log the perishables while unpacking the bags.
- Before cooking: open the board and build dinner around whatever expires first.
- Before shopping: skim the list so you never buy a third bag of spinach while two are still wilting in the drawer.
- Leftovers night: give each container a date so it stops becoming a science experiment at the back of the shelf.

WHAT MAKES IT USEFUL

Everything you type stays on your phone. There is no account to create and no cloud sync. The app behaves exactly the same in airplane mode, and your grocery history stays on your device.

A NOTE ON SCOPE
This is a deliberate single-purpose tool. It does not scan barcodes or fetch dates from a database — you enter each date once, and in return you get a dependable, distraction-free list you can trust standing at the fridge door.
