조선거상 : 낚시로 신분 상승

Sitting at the bow, I cast my fishing rod. The line slices through the air, and the float sinks onto the water.

The moment the float sinks—set the hook.

Something in the water pulls the line away. Let go, reel in, and hold on again.

You only know what you've hooked once you come out of the water.

■ First-Person Fishing from the Boat

From village ponds to Baekdusan Cheonji Lake, the waters off Ulleung, and the open sea off Heuksan.

The scenery is different at every spot, and as your status rises, the boat you sail on changes.

Only shadows and spray are visible underwater. The true identity remains hidden until the very end.

■ Four Rods at Once

By extending the rod holder, you can cast up to four rods at once.

Two hands, four rods. You never know which rod will bite first.

And once in ten—heavenly luck strikes—a hookup of something that shouldn't be here.

■ Daily Real-Time Fishing Tournament

Compete with others fishing in the same water right now.

Catching five large fish earns you a record, and at midnight, the winnings are divided according to rank.

No energy or advertisements are required. You can enter and exit at any time.

■ From Commoner Fisherman to Great Merchant

Commoner Fisherman → Fish Peddler → Street Vendor → Fish Market Merchant → Innkeeper → Shipowner → Gyeonggang Merchant → Doggo → Great Merchant.

You cannot advance by accumulating money alone. You must also build trust to unlock the next social status.

With every rise in status, the landscape of your current location changes completely.

■ Fishing with Today's Sky

Every spot has real coordinates, so the air temperature, water temperature, wave height, atmospheric pressure, and sunrise and sunset times are recorded exactly as they are.

Tides and months are calculated based on the lunar calendar. Fish bite exceptionally well at dawn during spring tides, but you cannot stand on the rocky shore when the waves are high.

■ Selling Is More Difficult

Village entrances, makeshift stalls in the marketplace, fish markets, consignment to innkeepers, tribute—prices and conditions vary by sales channel.

The Great Gyeongsin Famine, the Sinhae Trade Agreement, the machinations of local clerks… Events drawn from actual history await at the crossroads.

With the money earned, you stockpile and sell rice and salt, and secure fishing grounds across the eight provinces.

■ It’s Not Just Fishing

Mending nets, running errands for the market, chopping wood, combining fish, gathering from the mudflats—five tasks, five different hand movements.

57 stories of Joseon merchants heard at the tavern, 8 chapters on the merchant's path, and ancient texts found inside fish bellies.

Every morning, the day's fortune appears, and you can even read your own horoscope.

■ My Face, My Yard

I choose my face from among eighteen people. From a boy with shaggy hair to a white-haired old woman.

I have clothes made and bring a tiger-skin cushion, a blue lantern, and a Sapsal dog into the yard.
