NetProbe: WiFi & Network Tools Android

NetProbe: WiFi & Network Tools

By: MICoder
WiFi analyzer, speed test, LAN scanner, ping, traceroute — all offline.

Features & Capabilities

NetProbe is a complete network diagnostic toolkit for Android. Every tool a network engineer or curious power user needs — WiFi analyzer, internet speed test, LAN device discovery, ping, traceroute, DNS, Whois — bundled in a single, fast, offline-first app.

No account. No tracking. No dark patterns.

WHAT'S INSIDE

WiFi Analyzer
Check the connected network at a glance. Live dBm signal meter with a 60-sample history chart, band and channel, frequency, link speed, IP, gateway, subnet, DNS servers, and device MAC. Permissions and connection changes are picked up automatically.

Channel Analyzer
Visualize the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz airspace around you. Smooth per-network color coding, RSSI bars, and axis labels for channel and dBm. Respects Android's scan-throttle policy so it never drains your battery.

Speed Test
Four parallel download streams from Cloudflare's endpoints — enough to actually saturate modern gigabit WiFi links. Live throughput sparkline during the test. True ICMP ping (not HTTPS latency like most apps fake), with real jitter and packet-loss numbers.

LAN Device Discovery
Radar-sweep scan of your local subnet with a 39,000-entry IEEE OUI vendor database embedded in the app — works fully offline. Probes 18 common service ports to catch printers, NAS boxes, Chromecasts, smart TVs, and IoT devices that ignore ICMP. Tap a device to see its IP, MAC, vendor, and hostname with one-tap copy.

Ping
Uses Android's native ICMP ping binary — the same one desktop tools use. Terminal-style streaming output plus a live 60-sample latency graph. Minimum, average, maximum RTT, and packet-loss percentage, color-coded by thresholds.

DNS Lookup
Query A, AAAA, MX, TXT, NS, and CNAME records. Resolver is auto-configured from your network's DNS servers so lookups actually work on restrictive networks.

Whois
Domain and IP registration lookup with the IANA → Verisign → ARIN referral chain. Monospace output and connect-timeout handling so it never freezes when carriers block port 43.
