MetaClear: EXIF & File Cleaner

Remove hidden metadata before you share.

MetaClear is an EXIF remover and metadata cleaner for photos, documents and text. Remove GPS location, camera details, dates and author information from supported files, then share a cleaned copy with more control over the information you reveal.

PHOTO & EXIF CLEANING
• Clean EXIF, XMP and IPTC metadata from supported photos.
• Remove location and camera information before sharing.
• Choose whether to preserve photo orientation and ICC color profiles.
• Support for JPEG, PNG and WebP images.

DOCUMENT METADATA REMOVAL
Clean document properties and supported provenance data in PDFs, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OpenDocument, SVG, HTML and Markdown files. MetaClear also supports removing C2PA Content Credentials and embedded generator or editor metadata where supported.

CLEAN FILES AND FOLDERS
Choose photos, select individual files or process a folder. Include subfolders when needed, or send photos to MetaClear from your gallery's Share menu. Save cleaned copies to keep your originals, with an optional overwrite setting for supported files.

REMOVE INVISIBLE TEXT CHARACTERS
Paste text or open a text file to scan for and remove invisible Unicode characters, including zero-width, bidirectional control and tag characters. Normalize unusual spaces and customize Unicode normalization, emoji variation selectors and private-use character handling.

CONTROL WHAT YOU KEEP
Adjust photo, document and text cleaning settings to suit your workflow. Options include preserving orientation and color profiles, removing SVG title and description elements, and clearing Markdown front matter.

ON-DEVICE CLEANING
File metadata removal and standard text cleaning run on your device. Files and text are not uploaded for these operations. Optional AI rewriting requires your own Claude API key and sends the text you choose to rewrite to that service. The app displays ads served by Google AdMob.

KNOW THE LIMITS
Cleaning depends on the file format and selected settings. MetaClear does not remove visible watermarks, or tracked changes, comments and embedded thumbnails in Office documents. Use your Office app's document inspector for those items. Invisible-character cleanup is not a guarantee that text will pass AI detection.

Made for cleaning content you created or have the rights to share. Review cleaned files before sharing.
