It recognises phone numbers from 60+ countries across every continent — India, USA, UK, UAE, Australia, Germany, France, Brazil, Japan, South Africa, Nigeria, and many more. International numbers with country codes (such as +91, +1, +44, +971) are validated and formatted correctly. Local national-format numbers are detected without assuming any country — the app works just as well in Mumbai as it does in New York, Dubai, or Lagos.

Smart Extraction — Not Just Regex

Most phone-scanning apps use a simple pattern match that misses numbers split across lines or fails on numbers separated by spaces, dashes, or dots. Scan Phone Number uses a smarter token-based approach that correctly handles:

Numbers split across words: "9820 88 2798" detected as one number
Multiple numbers on the same line: "9820882798 9920180430" — both found
Numbers with labels: "Tel:", "Mob:", "WhatsApp:", "Ph:" — label stripped, number kept
Mixed separators: spaces, dashes, dots, parentheses — all handled
False positives rejected: years, prices, zip codes, and short codes are not mistaken for phone numbers

Recent Scans History

The app keeps a log of your last 10 scanned numbers, each stored with the exact date and time of the scan. Your history is saved locally on your device and can be cleared at any time with one tap. You can add any previously scanned number to your contacts directly from the history list — useful when you need a number you scanned days ago.

Tap "Add to contact" and your device's native contact-creation screen opens with the number already filled in. You add the name and any other details you want — the app never touches your contacts without your explicit action.
