QuakeJP

QuakeJP is a powerful Chrome extension that graphically displays earthquake data in Japan, providing users with an intuitive map-based interface. It showcases the latest approximately 50 earthquakes, significant quakes of magnitude 5.5 and above from the past two years, and major historical earthquakes since 1900.

Users can tap pins on the map to view detailed information including earthquake magnitude, maximum seismic intensity, focus depth, time of occurrence, and localized Japanese names of the epicenter. Color-coded pins highlight earthquake severity, and opacity reflects the depth, offering an insightful visual experience. Although data updates occur about 20 minutes post-announcement via the Japan Weather Association, QuakeJP does not provide real-time alerts but remains a valuable tool for earthquake tracking and education.
