MzansiShield: Safety Alerts

MzansiShield is a free community safety app for South Africa. See what is happening on your street, tell your neighbours what you see, and get help fast when something goes wrong.

SOS EMERGENCY BEACON
Followed, threatened or in danger? One tap broadcasts your live, moving location to nearby members, your trusted circle and the nearest registered responders. They can accept and navigate straight to you. Works without an account.

MzansiShield is not an emergency service and is not connected to the police. In an emergency, call 10111.

WALK WITH ME
Start a timed check-in before you walk home. Your circle gets a countdown. Tap "I'm safe" when you arrive; if you don't, they are alerted with your last known location.

IS YOUR AREA CALM RIGHT NOW?
Open the app and get a plain answer - Quiet, Some activity or Heightened - for home, work or your children's school, read from recent reports nearby.

TELL YOUR NEIGHBOURS WHAT YOU SEE
Potholes, water leaks, burst mains, sewage spills, broken streetlights, refuse, illegal dumping, outages, flooding and storm damage - pinned to the exact spot with GPS and a photo. Post anonymously without signing in, or under your name.

CONFIRMED BY NEIGHBOURS
Neighbours confirm what they have seen, so real problems stand out from noise. Reliable reporters earn a Trusted Reporter badge.

GO LIVE FROM THE SCENE
Stream live video when something is happening - a blocked road, a fire, a protest, a storm coming through - so your neighbours can see it as it happens.

LOOK OUT FOR EACH OTHER
Missing person, lost pet, lost item, found item, accidents and road closures - posted to the people who are actually nearby and might see. A missing-person post asks you to call 10111 first, because a police case is what starts a real search.

A SAFETY PHONE FOR YOUR CHILD
Turn a spare handset into a child's safety device: an SOS button and Walk-with-me, and nothing else. A child's location reaches only their guardian, trusted circle and registered responders - never nearby strangers - and any location check is always visible on the child's own screen.

LIVE LOAD-SHEDDING AND WATER
Search any town, suburb or street, or drop a pin, and see the live power status and nearby water outage reports, powered by EskomSePush. Weather for the same spot, alongside it.

YOUR NEIGHBOURHOOD, ONLINE
Join or start a group for your street, estate or neighbourhood watch. Follow neighbours and official accounts, send private messages, and keep an eye on the area together.

IN ALL 11 OFFICIAL LANGUAGES
English, Afrikaans, isiZulu, isiXhosa, Sepedi, Sesotho, Setswana, siSwati, Tshivenda, Xitsonga and isiNdebele - and community posts can auto-translate into the one you choose.

BUILT RESPONSIBLY
Photographs and voice notes are screened before they are published. Every post, reply, profile, message, broadcast and group can be reported, and blocking is enforced on our servers. We have zero tolerance for content that endangers a child. Your email address and phone number are never shown publicly, and you can delete your account and everything with it at any time.

NOT AN EMERGENCY SERVICE
MzansiShield shares community information between neighbours. It does not replace official services, nothing you post reaches the police or any authority, and a response is never guaranteed. In an emergency always call SAPS on 10111 or medical services on 10177.

Free. No ads. Made in South Africa.
