FOCUS LOCK & ANDROID ACCESSIBILITYSERVICE API (IMPORTANT)
Focus Lock is an optional study aid. It runs only while your Study Timer is active — not always-on surveillance.
• Full Block and Send Home use Usage Access (and overlay for Full Block). Accessibility is not required for these modes.
• Study Mode and Scroll Counter (optional) use Android’s AccessibilityService API only for YouTube and Instagram to detect Shorts and Reels while the timer runs. Lectures and normal feeds stay allowed in Study Mode.
• We do not read passwords, messages, or content from other apps. Accessibility data is not uploaded and is not shared with library owners.
• You must opt in with an in-app disclosure and consent before Accessibility Settings open. Turn it off anytime in Android Settings. When the timer ends, monitoring stops.
