Review summary

Users find the Umma app useful, complete, and good for prayer times and Quran reading. However, the free version is widely criticized for excessive, aggressive, and repetitive ads that are hard to skip and slow app loading. Several reviewers say ads are unacceptable for a Muslim app, citing gambling, loan, and inappropriate content. Some suggest a donation model instead of ads, and some have switched to other apps.

Pros

  • Helpful and beneficial for daily Muslim life, mentioned in several reviews
  • Good app with complete features, including prayer schedule and Quran
  • Easy to use for teenagers and parents

Cons

  • Too many ads, especially on opening the app and when enabling features or clicking buttons
  • Ads are aggressive, repetitive, and hard to skip, blocking access to the main menu
  • Ads include gambling (judol) and loan (pinjol) promotions and inappropriate content, which reviewers find haram
  • Free version is hard to use because of ad loading and interruptions
