It functions like a digital Spirit Box: the app continuously scans different live radio stations, rapidly changing frequencies.

The idea is that entities might be using these fragments of voices to try to communicate.

Spirit Stream uses 12 live news radio stations broadcasting from several European countries:

🤔 Why no French radio stations?

This is a deliberate and considered choice.
All the selected stations broadcast in languages ​​that most French-speaking users don't understand directly: German, Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, and Finnish.

The benefit is simple: if, during a session, you clearly hear French words or phrases while all the other radio stations are broadcasting in foreign languages, it makes the experience much harder to refute.
