Just landed at Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport and wondering how to get into town? Porto Metro 3D is an independent, hand-built guide to the whole Porto metro network, shown as an interactive 3D model you can spin, tilt and explore with one finger.

FROM THE AIRPORT TO THE CITY
The airport sits at one end of Line E, the violet line, which runs through the middle of Porto and on to Estádio do Dragão, calling at Trindade, the station where every line meets. Tap Line E and you get all its stops in order, the places where you can change to another line, and the next scheduled departures in both directions. Install the app before you fly and it is ready the moment you land: no roaming, no hunting for airport Wi-Fi.

A PORTO METRO MAP THAT FINALLY MAKES SENSE
Tap any line — A, B, C, D, E or F, drawn in the operator's own colors — and it unfolds into a vertical ribbon listing every station in order, with interchanges marked. Station names are tappable, so you can jump straight from one line to the one that crosses it. Switch between a clean schematic map, the kind you see on the platform wall, and a geographic view that shows where the stations really sit on both banks of the Douro.

TIMETABLES THAT WORK WITH NO SIGNAL
Pick a station and see the next departures in both directions, calculated on your phone from the official open timetable data (GTFS). The schedules live inside the app and refresh each time you open it with a connection, so the metro map and the departure times keep working offline — on the plane, in the passport queue, or down on a platform with no bars. (The "Get directions" button hands you over to Google Maps, Waze or Apple Maps, so that one does need the internet.)

ABOUT THE TIMETABLES
Departure times come from the operator's published schedules. They are theoretical: this is not live tracking, the app has no real-time feed, and it cannot know about delays, track work or cancellations. Leave yourself a margin, especially before a flight, and check the displays at the station.
