The visual atmosphere is intentionally soft: a gentle green-gold background sets the tone, while a small, moss-colored chick greets the player at the start, creating a sense of lightness and clarity before the challenge begins.

The core interaction in Chicken Cross Road is based on simple directional input. On each step, an arrow appears on the screen, pointing in one of four possible directions: up, down, left, or right. The player’s task is to swipe in the exact direction indicated by the arrow. A timer limits each reaction, starting at 5 seconds. The moment the correct swipe is made, the next arrow appears.

A key defining feature of the game is the progressive reduction of available time. After every correct swipe, the duration to react decreases by 0.5 seconds until it reaches the minimum limit of 1 second. This dynamic creates a shifting rhythm in gameplay: slow and accessible in the beginning, increasingly demanding as the score grows. Every correct reaction awards +1 point. When the player’s swipe does not match the arrow direction — or the time runs out — the session concludes.
