Voice Notes: Speech to Text

Capture an idea while it is fresh. Voice Notes records locally and shows an on-device transcript as you speak. Each note can run for up to 30 minutes; if you keep recording, the app saves it and continues automatically in a new note.

HOW IT WORKS
1. Start recording and watch the on-device transcript appear live.
2. Stop whenever you want, or keep going while the app rolls over to a new note every 30 minutes.
3. Play audio, edit text, search notes, copy content, or share a recording.
4. Optionally organize a note with your own AI Provider Key or sync it one-way to Obsidian or S3-compatible storage.

LOCAL FIRST
• Recording and live transcription run on your device after Google Play delivers the speech model.
• Audio, transcripts, and notes stay in the app's private storage unless you explicitly use BYOK, sharing, or sync.
• The raw on-device transcript remains available for editing and comparison.
• Continuous recording is saved as separate notes at 30-minute boundaries.

OPTIONAL BYOK CLOUD ENHANCEMENT
Choose OpenRouter, Google Gemini, or OpenAI and enter your own API Key when you want cloud transcription or organized text, titles, and summaries. The app prepares the request on your device and sends it directly to the Provider you selected; Mosh does not proxy or store the recording or Key. Provider availability, data terms, limits, and charges apply.

OPTIONAL ONE-WAY SYNC
Connect an Obsidian vault folder or S3-compatible bucket to export Markdown notes and, if enabled, one recording file. Local updates can replace the exported files, but remote edits are not imported. Deleting a local note or disconnecting sync does not delete remote files.

NO ACCOUNT OR SUBSCRIPTION
Voice Notes requires no Mosh account and offers no subscription in this release. Your own AI and storage Provider charges remain your responsibility.

PRIVACY, ADS, AND YOUR CHOICES
The Notes screen may show one Google AdMob banner. Google UMP handles advertising choices where required. The Google Play build enables Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics by default; you can turn them off in Settings. Audio, transcripts, notes, API Keys, prompts, and preferred terms are not sent to analytics or advertising services. Review the Privacy Policy before enabling optional online features.
