SIDILU

SIDILU is a Chrome extension offering a Severe Weather Early Warning Service (SWEWS) specifically for lightning in the state of Karnataka. It monitors hazardous weather phenomena related to convective storms, including their development, intensification, and movements.

Utilizing a network of ground-based lightning sensors dispersed throughout Karnataka, SIDILU leverages total lightning data combined with cloud computing technology to provide timely and accurate early warnings. This ensures enhanced safety and preparedness against severe weather events, particularly lightning hazards.
