Monkey Grip

One monkey, one hand on the vine, and a jungle that never ends.

Hold your finger down: the monkey swings up along an arc and climbs the
vine, arm bending on the way. Let go and the grip breaks on a tangent —
the monkey flies forward, free hand already reaching for the next vine.
Release too early and you fall short. Release too late and you sail up
past the vine and miss it entirely. One touch is the whole control
scheme. Finding the exact moment to lift it is the whole game.

And you cannot afford to think it over. Thorns are creeping in from the
left, and every second you hesitate lets them gain. A clean jump throws
them back; a moment of doubt lets them close in. The further you get,
the harder the swing accelerates, the narrower the window to release,
and the closer the thorns breathe down your neck.

Every vine ahead is placed so that it can be reached. A miss is always
your miss, never bad luck — which is why failing here rarely ends in a
shrug, and almost always ends in one more try.
