AppLock uses the Android Accessibility Service API. We are required to disclose how and why this permission is used.
WHY WE NEED THIS PERMISSION:
1. App Locking — The Accessibility Service detects when you open or close an application by reading the foreground window's package name. This is the only reliable way to display the lock screen instantly, before any content of a protected app becomes visible.
2. Parental Control (Content Monitoring) — The Accessibility Service monitors text input fields solely to detect harmful or inappropriate words. This enables AppLock to alert parents in real time when such content appears.
YOUR PRIVACY IS PROTECTED:
• No Data Collection — We do not collect, record, upload, or share any personal data, keystrokes, messages, or any other sensitive information.
• Fully Offline — All processing happens locally on your device. No data is ever transmitted over the internet or shared with any third party.
• Minimal Access — The service reads only what is strictly necessary: the package name of the active app (for locking) and text field content (for parental word detection).
This permission is not used to record calls, bypass Android privacy controls, or collect user data in any way. It is used exclusively for the security and parental control features described above.
