I work in tech so when I try an app I check how actively it's maintained. The release history on Play Store shows consistent updates and the dev actually responds to reviews. That matters to me— it means if something breaks it'll get fixed. The app itself is good: clean UI, reliable transcription, no bloat. Auto-save was added quickly after users complained which is a good sign. Keeping this one long-term.

it's boring they should have made it like when you voice also translate it into a note that would have been great yeah

Been using this for a while now, to capture notes during client calls. Transcription accuracy is genuinely good, way better than I expected for a free tier. It occasionally stumbles on industry jargon and names but honestly what doesn't. The search function is a lifesaver when I need to pull up something from a recording I did two weeks ago. Would love speaker identification in the future. 4 stars for now, easy 5 if that feature comes.

I'm a nursing student and I use this to record lectures and review them later. The fact that it transcribes in the background while I'm still in class is a game changer — I'm not scrambling to read a screen anymore, I just check my notes afterward. Also tested it with my Yoruba-English mixed speech (yes I talk like that lol) and it handled it better than expected. Impressed.

The app, before it was put behind a SUBSCRIPTION paywall, worked well. I'm all for putting hard work behind a paywall, but when I'm trying to run all my stuff locally and come back to the app after an update only to find I have to pay a monthly fee to run my transcriptions on my own hardware, you've lost me. I would've still been annoyed, but understanding with a one time payment of 5$ or so for the development. Not a subscription though. Uninstalled. Edit: Canned Dev Response. Dropped to 1Star.

I use this to brain dump ideas for my YouTube scripts. Just talk for 5 minutes rambling and then clean it up in the editor. The rich text formatting tools are basic but enough for what I need. Sharing directly to my notes app works smoothly. Wish it had a word count but that's minor. Definitely worth having in your creator toolkit.

I work in a field where I can't just be sending voice data to random clouds, so I was skeptical. But this actually keeps everything on-device by default which is exactly what I need. Tested the transcription offline and it still works well. Not many apps can say that. Recommend it to anyone who's paranoid about privacy like me.

App does what it says and transcription is fast. My issue is I lost a couple of recordings before they saved properly. Saw another review saying auto-save was added — I updated and it seems better now so maybe I was just unlucky. Interface could use a bit more polish on older Android phones, feels slightly laggy. Still keeping it though because the core feature is solid.

I Was a long-time Otter user but the pricing got ridiculous. Gave Notely a shot on a whim and honestly the transcription quality is comparable, maybe even better for Spanish. UI is cleaner, no annoying upsell popups every 5 seconds. The import feature for existing audio files was a pleasant surprise went back and transcribed some old recordings I had lying around. Really happy with this.

Decent but had a learning curve Took me a bit to figure out the filtering and search stuff but once I did it made sense. Transcription is accurate about 90% of the time which I think is fair. Main thing I noticed is it sometimes cuts off the last few seconds of a recording if you stop abruptly. Not a dealbreaker but a little annoying when it's an important thought. Would still recommend to people who want a no-subscription voice notes app.
