Wound Screener

This mobile app was developed by the Mobile Technology Group at MIT as part of a research study that uses machine learning to help detect infection in a surgical wound based on the wound image. The version published here is a general purpose version that is used for testing and evaluation.

The current version of this app uses a machine learning algorithm running on a remote server. But future versions of this app will be able to run a machine learning algorithm on the phone itself without a server.

This project is a collaboration between groups at MIT (Rich Fletcher) and Harvard Medical School (Bethany Hedt-Gauthier) along with Boston area doctors and a large team at Partners In Health, in Rwanda, Africa.
