Light Meter: Lux & FC Android

Light Meter: Lux & FC

By: Jandem App
Measure light in lux or fc with calibration, charts, history and analysis

Overview

Features & Capabilities

Turn your phone into a practical light meter for measuring ambient light using your device's light sensor.

Light Meter lets you monitor the current light level and track minimum, maximum and average values during a measurement session.

Use it to compare lighting between rooms, check workspaces, measure lamp brightness, evaluate indoor plant locations or simply understand how light levels change over time.

Main features:

• Real-time light measurement in lux or foot-candle (fc)
• Current, minimum, maximum and average values
• Start, hold/resume and reset measurement sessions
• Adjustable calibration factor from 0.50× to 2.00×
• Live light-level chart during measurement
• Save measurements with date, time and duration
• Measurement history with detailed statistics
• Compare two saved measurements
• Advanced analysis with saved charts and standard deviation
• CSV export for further analysis
• Practical light reference guide for rooms, visual tasks and indoor plants
• Portrait and landscape support

Calibration

Light sensors can produce different readings on different Android devices. If you have access to a trusted reference light meter, you can adjust the calibration factor to compensate for a consistent difference.

A calibration value of 1.00× uses the device sensor reading without correction.

Measurement history

Save your measurement sessions and review minimum, maximum and average light levels, duration, calibration factor and other measurement information later.

Saved measurements are stored locally on your device.

Advanced analysis

Advanced Analysis provides additional information for saved measurements, including a saved light chart, range, standard deviation, sensor sample count and chart sample count.

You can also compare two saved measurement sessions and export measurement data as a CSV file.

Some advanced features may be temporarily unlocked by watching an optional rewarded advertisement.

Light reference guide

The built-in guide provides practical reference ranges for common indoor lighting, work and reading areas, detailed visual tasks and indoor plants.

These ranges are intended as general guidance. Plant lighting requirements vary by species, spectrum and photoperiod, and professional horticultural measurements may require PAR or PPFD equipment.

Important

Measurement accuracy depends on the ambient light sensor and hardware implementation of your Android device. Different phones and tablets may produce different readings.

Light Meter is intended as a practical everyday measurement tool and should not be used as a certified laboratory, legal, safety-critical or professional photometric instrument.
