With the Top Chef University app you will learn professional cooking techniques and food preparation methods beyond just recipes from 11 of the most successful Top Chef chef’testants. The app downloads with access to 28 lesson videos to get you started. The entire Top Chef University culinary program is made up of over 200 individual lessons organized into 20 distinct courses. Overall, the entire program contains more than 60 hours of instructional video. Purchase individual lessons, entire courses or the whole university on-demand from within the app. Prior to making a purchase you can preview all lessons and courses.

With each lesson you receive detailed directions for all demonstrated recipes and techniques, definitions for cooking terms and tools and a place to make personal notes on each lesson. Search for lessons by chef, type of food or cuisine, and by level of difficulty. Track your progress by identifying the lessons you’ve mastered, test your knowledge with the app’s 20 quizzes and tag your favorite lessons. This series of lessons was what taught me how to be a very, very, very good amateur chef back in 2012 when it cost $100s on the website. Yes, that means the app version of this is a bit outdated, but it doesn't matter. Do cooking basics really change? Not really. Also, super cheap! I actually performed every single lesson, except for some of the gastronomy chapter, since I did not have tools like a sous vide at the time. Every recipe was a success with stunning photos (I do photography).

Seems like a sketchy data harvesting app rather than the old top chef university.

I had it installed on my tablet and with time,not using it, resetting tablet, whatever, it got deleted and now that I want to reinstall and use it, it won't let me in. A reset password says it sends the reset password email but nothing comes to reset the password. It is a fun, easy to use app and I love it. I paid for the full app so I would like it to work. I registered with another email account so that work OK but want to use the original account with the paid parts. I've taken a few stars away because I can't get my full installation but I would give it 5 stars when it worked.
