Users appreciate MiPermit’s convenience for digital permits, wide acceptance, location-finding and basic ease of use. Major recurring problems are inability to save payment methods (no Google Pay), frequent server/connection timeouts, payment/ticket reliability issues (delays, missed or duplicated payments), and confusing UX that can cause accidental double bookings and frustration.

Pros

Removes need for a physical permit — convenient digital permits and visitor options.
Generally accepted and widely used in many areas; “gets the job done” when it works.
Accurate at finding nearest car parks/locations for many users.
Simple/easy to use in successful sessions, with helpful reminders/notifications.

Cons

No saved payment methods or Google Pay/Android autofill — users must re-enter card details every time.
Unreliable server/connection behaviour: slow loads, timeouts, continuous reloading in poor/patchy signal.
Payment/ticket glitches: payments reported as successful but not processed, delayed tickets, double charges and resulting fines.
Poor UX and flow: price hidden until final screen, many steps, defaults (e.g. last vehicle) lead to accidental double bookings.
Doesn’t reliably remember vehicle registrations or provide easy visitor/favourites management.

The town I live in has patchy service but can generally find 2 bars of 4G, however the fact that this app needs to pull parking information from the servers EVERY TIME means the app becomes unusable. This is especially frustrating when attempting to extend a parking purchase. More than once I've extended the parking multiple times by accident because the app's attempts to retrieve data take far too long and times out.

2024-12-22	Sp*****	Basically just doesn't work. Search nearby roads and it shows me places in Cardiff when I'm in exeter. Doesn't come up with any places when I search the exact road I'm trying to get a permit for. Overall a waste of space on my phone

2024-12-16	Ch*****	App does not work. I live in Bristol. The app gets stuck on a continuous reloading loop on the permit page, disabling all buttons. Internet working fine.

2024-10-31	Sa*****	It took me the two hours that I paid for the parking, to get the payment to go through. It spoilt what was supposed to be a lovely time in town as I kept having to check phone and refresh screen. It eventually went through after we had left the car park. I really hope we don't get a ticket!

2024-10-21	Jo*****	The app works really well and is very accurate when asked to find the nearest car park. I don't really like being forced to pay for parking by phone but, if there's no option, this app is by far my preference.
